Summer is Here at Last

Summer has officially arrived in Rochester. This week has been filled beautiful, sunny days and the warmth on our pale skin has never felt so good. Jaxon played in his pool a few nights this week and he absolutely loved it. Why not? It's like a big bath tub and he can really splash a lot. Not to mention he thought it was pretty neat that Ike was his own personal life guard, watching Jaxon's every move to ensure his safety around the 'deep' water (actually Ike was watching the rubber, squeaky bath toy Jaxon was playing with, but we won't tell Jax that). Ike kept trying to get in the pool too. It was quite a feat taking these pictures, watching Jax and trying to keep the dog out of the pool (and bossing Nate around since he was barbecuing). We left Ike unattended for one second and we turned around and he's bolting like lightning down the deck stairs. Then I realized he stole the rubber toy out of the pool and was parading around the backyard like the little jerk that he is. (Did I mention he ate a almost-full bottle of sunscreen while we were working the other day and then proceeded to puke ALL over in our bedroom! Needless to say he has since been spending his days in his kennel in the basement).
We walk to the park almost every night. Jaxon loves to swing. He kicks his legs in delight when he sees the swings. We are looking forward to the long weekend. Grandma Linda got here today to visit and we all know how Jaxon loves getting spoiled by his Grandmas. :)

  1. pictures and story are so cute! i wonder if you need the dog whisperer for ike - he sounds like he's out of control! (but in a fun, annoying way)
